Provenance research into a Rococo chest of drawers (inv. no. I 52,294) in the collection of so-called “Reichsbank” furniture

The aim of this brief research project was to investigate the so-called “Reichsbank” furniture collection belonging to the museum foundation Stiftung Stadtmuseum in Berlin based on the example of the Anet chest of drawers, to assess the source situation in the museum and the Berlin archives – as far as is possible in the current situation – with regard to the history and previous owners of the chest of drawers, and to follow up on initial indications regarding its further provenance.
