Beschreibung
Correspondence and related papers regarding intervention and appeals for the release of artists, art historians and curators from alien internment camps. First selection includes general correspondence with Helen Roeder of the Artist's Refugee Committee; a group of interned artists' at Hutchinson Internment Camp, among them Kurt Schwitters, Fred Uhlman, Siegfried Charoux and Georg Ehrlich and with the Home Office. This is followed by correspondence arranged alphabetically by name of internee: Otto Benesch, Hugo Dachinger, Otto Fein, Dr & Mrs Walter Gernsheim, Gustave Gluck, Henry Happ, Felix Horta, Sebastien Isepp, Oskar Kokoschka, Mr Van Puyvelde, Warburg Institute Staff including Hans Meier and F. Saxl, Dr & Mrs Johannes Wilde, Edgar Wind and Mr Zempi.
